Sometime back I signed to get newsletters from Photojojo for really awesome photo projects and ideas for any level of photographers to try on their own. The other day I got one that really stood out to me since anyone can do it and it is just simple awesome! So I thought I would share...
Apparently, there is a theory behind bokeh (the nice and creamy blurred background you get when you shoot at a large aperture), and I quote, "that unfocused points of light in a photograph take on the shape of the aperture." Therefore you can make a lens hood with a simple cut out shape in the middle, like a heart, and turn all the points of light into that shape. Cool huh?!?
You can find out how to do it here: www.diyphotography.net
I will post my experiments with it later this week :)
